The Shmira Safety team has issued a critical advisory for the community. As of August 3, 2025, multiple reports have surfaced about two aggressive panhandlers, a father and son, targeting local synagogues and Jewish-owned businesses. These individuals have been spotted sleepily panhandling outside shuls, reportedly throwing staff and visitors into distress with violent language and aggressive behavior. The son has been seen spitting at employees and using disrespectful actions toward staff, congregants, and business owners.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who has experienced similar incidents to contact Shmira immediately. The safety of our community is paramount, and swift action is needed to address this disturbing trend.
