Early this morning, a suspicious incident was reported near Bedford Street, just north of Pico Boulevard. A male suspect wearing a ski mask and black hoodie was seen attempting to break into parked vehicles in the area. Upon being noticed by a resident, the individual quickly fled the scene in a red BMW M8, heading east on Pico toward La Cienega.
Shmira Community Safety Unit # LA-104 responded immediately to the call and began canvassing the area. Although the suspect had already left the scene by the time they arrived, a detailed report has been filed, and neighborhood patrols have since been increased.
This event is a timely reminder for our community: please lock your car doors and do not leave valuables inside overnight. Opportunistic thefts like these are often crimes of convenience and can be deterred by simple precautions.
Stay alert. Stay safe. And thank you to the vigilant community member who reported the activity promptly.
