The Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, a cherished institution in our community, was recently targeted by a shameful act of neo-Nazi vandalism. This despicable act of hate strikes at the heart of a place dedicated to preserving Jewish history and educating us all about the Holocaust’s enduring lessons. As the West Coast’s only religious publication, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Jewish neighbors, condemning this cowardly attack in the strongest terms.
This vandalism is not just an assault on a building; it’s an attack on the values we hold dear—compassion, understanding, and unity. The Oregon Jewish Museum is more than a museum; it’s a vital part of our shared community, a place where stories of resilience and remembrance inspire us all. We will not let hate define us or divide us.
We call on local authorities to investigate this hate crime with the urgency and thoroughness it demands, ensuring those responsible are held accountable. This act of bigotry is a stark reminder that antisemitism, like all forms of hatred, has no place in our society.
To our Jewish brothers and sisters: you are not alone. We are with you, today and always, as we work together to build a community rooted in love, respect, and justice. Let’s honor the museum’s mission by standing united against hate and continuing to learn from one another’s stories.
Here are some ways YOU can help The Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education:

· Bring your friends and family
· Tell people about OJMCHE and what we do
· Join our community - stay informed - become a member (if you are not already :)
· Support our exhibitions, programming and staff - we are not OJMCHE without YOU.
