Hatzolah of Los Angeles has been serving the needs of the community for over 25 years. It was established to enhance pre-hospital care and provide a rapid response — when every second counts — by supporting, not replacing, the existing city services and making lifesaving care more accessible to the community.

Hatzolah of Los Angeles is honored to welcome 16 new members to their ranks. Each of these members completed a rigorous 120-hour approved training program prior to passing the National Registry EMT exam to become certified Emergency Medical Technicians. All of this is in addition to their commitment to further volunteer their time, with Hatzolah, for the benefit of the entire community.

Hatzolah is staffed 24/7 by community volunteers who are embedded in the community and are ready to render aid, stabilize patients, and coordinate with emergency services. “We respond with urgency, care with compassion, and never forget the responsibility that comes with serving our community,” according to Ari Rosner, Hatzolah’s Director of Operations.

Adding these new members is a tremendous financial undertaking. In addition to funding the initial training program, each Hatzolah EMT is outfitted with medical supplies that include oxygen and an AED. These new EMTs have now joined the ranks of Hatzolah’s existing volunteers, some of whom have been volunteering for over 30 years, and who continue to hone their skills with ongoing continuing education classes that Hatzolah provides or pays for. Hatzolah is funded via donations from within the community.

In addition to expanding their membership, Hatzolah of Los Angeles is undergoing several other new initiatives to improve the organization and the care that they provide to the community.
