A disturbing antisemitic incident at La Crème Café inside Westfield Century City has shaken local families and prompted widespread concern across Los Angeles’ Jewish community.

According to a viral post by Councilmember Sam Yebri, a Jewish family was verbally harassed by a staff member who allegedly said he could “smell Jews from around the corner,” before intentionally sabotaging their food with excessive salt, rendering it inedible.

The family, which has chosen to remain anonymous, filed a formal complaint with Westfield. Other patrons have since joined in condemning the incident.

Council-member Yebri responded publicly, stating:

“It is imperative that Jews and our allies not remain silent when we see any act of antisemitism. We know when unchallenged and unreported, hateful words become hateful acts that become violent acts of hate.”

No official statement has yet been made by La Crème Café or Westfield management.

This incident underscores a troubling rise in antisemitism in everyday public spaces. As investigations continue and the community awaits accountability, the message from many is clear: silence is not an option.

We have reached out to Century City Management directly and will continue to follow this story.
